Residential Dog Training

Shep’s Dog Training’s Residential dog training, also known as board and train or doggy boot camp, is a type of training where a dog is sent to live with us for an extended period, typically ranging from a few weeks to several months. During this time, we work with your dog on various behaviours and skills, such as obedience, socialisation, and problem-solving.

Residential dog training is an excellent option for pet owners needing more time or experience to train their dogs or those who have tried other training methods but have yet to succeed.

We are now approached by more and more customers wanting their dogs trained in this way for general obedience training or problems like aggression.

Our advanced competition obedience dog training is designed for dog owners looking to take their dog’s obedience training to the next level.

What our customers are saying!

  • Janie and her team looked after my two Rottweilers over the summer. I have two transformed dogs back, they were not bad dogs but could become aggressive towards each other occasionally. This does not happen anymore, my wife and I were part of the problem but after one to one sessions with Mike both the dogs and us are a much happier family unit. I could not recommend Janie and her team highly enough, and I hope we have a long working relationship, boarding etc. thank you all again

  • Love taking my boy Rocky to training. He has come so far since we started. We’re training as assistance dogs and handlers, and they understand that it’s not only the dog that needs the training but also the owner. Janie and the girls have excellent knowledge and care for the animals, which gets them results. Rocky is 11 months old now, and he’s learned so much. Still have a long way to go, but I trust that we will get there with the training we have at Sheps. Owe so much to these guys.

  • We picked up our 16-month-old border collie today after he had four weeks of training. When we arrived, he was sharing a kennel with another dog. To our amazement, he’s not been the most sociable dog! This wouldn’t have been an option when he arrived there. Janie and her team have taught him to socialise with other dogs and people, walk on a lead without pulling, and learn good manners! We will continue to attend classes and be supported and guided to ensure we are doing things right. Once he came home, he slotted straight back into family life and showed he hadn’t lost any of his personality and character!
